Feature requests

Ask for a feature. Get it built.

Put in your email and describe what you need in plain words. Small things often ship the same day; bigger ones take a few days. No account, no sales call, no roadmap board where good ideas go to be voted on forever.

  • Text only — never your files
  • A human replies
  • Hours to days, not quarters

Seven workspaces went live in recent months, each one starting as a description of a problem. This is the pace the estimates above are based on.

Questions

How much does it cost to request a feature?
Nothing. SafePaper is free and every tool built from a request stays free for everyone. There is no paid queue and no way to pay to jump it.
How fast will my feature actually be built?
Small changes to an existing tool often ship the same day. A new tool in an existing workspace usually takes a day or two. A new desk, an on-device AI model, or a new engine typically takes three to five days. You get an honest answer in the reply, not a silent backlog.
What if my idea needs a server or an account?
SafePaper runs entirely in your browser and never uploads your files, so features that assume a server, a login, or cloud sync need rethinking rather than rejecting. There is usually a local-first way to reach the same outcome — encrypted on-device storage, peer-to-peer transfer, or your own S3/R2 bucket. We'll suggest one in the reply.
What happens to my email address?
It is used once, to reply to you about your request. It is not added to a mailing list, not sold, and not passed to an analytics tool. The request itself is plain text — your files are never part of it.
Can I request an entire new workspace, not just a tool?
Yes. Password Desk, Email Desk, Photo Desk, Resume Desk, Scan Desk, Diagram Desk and Handwriting Desk all began as a single description of a problem someone had. Whole desks are in scope.
Can I follow the progress or discuss the idea first?
Yes — the SafePaper Discord is open and is the fastest place for back-and-forth. Use this form when you want it written down and answered directly.
