# How SafePaper stays private

> There is no upload endpoint for your files. Every tool processes documents inside this browser tab, and you can prove it in the Network tab.

## Verify it yourself

1. Open DevTools (F12 or Cmd+Option+I) and switch to the Network tab. Tick Preserve log.
2. Clear existing requests, then keep recording.
3. Add a document and run any operation — merge, compress, redact, convert.
4. You will see the app shell, JS/CSS chunks, fonts, and same-origin engine assets — but no request that carries your file's bytes to a SafePaper server.

The architecture uses WebAssembly, Web Workers, and the Origin Private File System. Model weights and codecs may download once from a CDN and then cache. File bytes are not attached to those requests.
