When you genuinely need current rates, this tool fetches them — but only when you ask, and it never sends your amounts. That keeps the privacy-first default intact while still giving you up-to-date conversions.

### What data leaves my device?

Only a request for exchange rates when you opt in — the currency pair, not your amounts. The conversion of your amounts happens locally afterward.

### Why is this opt-in?

SafePaper defaults to zero network calls; fetching live rates contacts an external source, so it's off until you explicitly enable it.

### Is this financial advice?

No. Rates are indicative and for information; actual exchange costs include spreads and fees from your provider.
