# Split PDF — separate pages in your browser, no upload

> Split a PDF into separate files or extract a page range in your browser. Fast, private, and no upload — your document never leaves your device.

Break one PDF into several files, or pull out a specific page range. It all happens locally in your browser, so the document you are splitting is never uploaded.

Splitting is useful when a scanner or export bundled everything into one long PDF and you only need part of it — a single statement out of a year's worth, or one form from a packet.

You can define ranges to produce multiple output files in one pass, or extract just the pages you need. The tool works page-for-page, so nothing is re-encoded and the extracted pages are identical to the source.

When you instead want to recombine files, use Merge; to drop or reorder pages in place, use Organize; and to pull just the embedded pictures out of a PDF, use Extract images.

## How to

1. **Add the PDF.** Drop the PDF you want to split onto the tool or browse for it.
2. **Choose how to split.** Pick the pages or ranges to extract — for example pages 1–3 as one file and 4–10 as another.
3. **Split.** Generate the resulting file or files locally.
4. **Download.** Save the split output to your device.

## FAQ

### Can I extract a single page?

Yes — choose the single page you want and export it as its own PDF.

### Will splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as-is, so the extracted pages match the original exactly.

### Is my file uploaded to split it?

No. The split runs in your browser tab; the document's bytes are not sent anywhere.

### What's the difference between Split and Organize?

Split produces separate files from page ranges; Organize reorders, rotates, and deletes pages within a single document.
