Cropping is how you tidy up scans with wide margins, isolate a figure, or reframe pages for a cleaner print. This tool works two ways: recrop pages in place by updating their CropBox, or collect regions across pages and export them as new files.

Because CropBox changes are non-destructive, the content is hidden, not erased — use Redact if you need it truly gone. To split whole pages into separate files, use Split.

## How to

1. **Add the PDF.** Drop your PDF to preview pages with pdf.js.
2. **Draw the crop.** Marquee the area to keep on each page, or stack regions to export.
3. **Export.** Download the recropped PDF, a ZIP of PDFs, or JPEGs.

## FAQ

### Does cropping delete the hidden content?

Updating the CropBox hides the margins from view without deleting the underlying content. To permanently remove content, use Redact.

### Can I export just a region as an image?

Yes. Draw regions and export them as JPEG snapshots in a ZIP, or as one-page PDFs, instead of recropping the whole file.

### Is the PDF uploaded to crop it?

No. Preview and export run in your browser, so the document is cropped entirely on your device.
