# WebSocket tester — connect & inspect frames

> Open a WebSocket connection, send messages, and watch incoming frames from your browser. Connections go to the server you choose; nothing routes through us.

Open a WebSocket connection to any endpoint, send messages, and watch incoming frames in real time. The connection is made directly from your browser to the server you specify.

Debugging a realtime feature means poking at the socket directly — connecting, sending a message, watching what comes back. A browser tester does this without extra tooling and shows frames as they arrive.

For request/response APIs use the HTTP client; to format JSON messages you send or receive, the JSON toolkit.

## How to

1. **Enter a URL.** Type a ws:// or wss:// endpoint.
2. **Connect.** Open the connection from your browser.
3. **Send & watch.** Send messages and view incoming frames live.

## FAQ

### What URL scheme do WebSockets use?

ws:// for plain and wss:// for TLS-secured connections. Use wss:// in production; many servers require it.

### Where does the connection go?

Directly from your browser to the server you enter. We don't proxy it, so only your target endpoint is contacted.

### Is my traffic stored?

No. The tester runs in your browser and doesn't route messages through us.
